Happy 2021 to all! Big thank you for hanging out and being awesome for the first two-ish months of the site. It's been fun so far, looking forwards to a lot this year! If you haven't seen, after a delay, the last day of the advent can be claimed now (here). You have three choices for your last advent prize including a second chance at a creature pass. That's right we have creatures coming to Aesseldar now! Be sure to check the announcement for any rule clarifications if you're interested. Last big bit of news we do have our light layout "in the mist" ready to be used. There will still be tweaks and color changes coming in the next week or so by the fantastic dusk so don't be afraid if things look a little different.

Congratulations to Zay for winning the pride raffle with Runar! Welcome our new pride, Adamo Autumna! Don't forget to keep posting in the advent to claim your awesome prizes, and within the next few days you'll see some additional posts cropping up in the ooc areas. We'd love some feedback on the site and will be adding an area for feedback and suggestions. We will also be adding a thread to post all your open threads. Another fantastic surprise is that Koafox (some of you may know her as Miranda from other sites) has said we are welcome to use their table switcher plugin. As soon as I get the files we will be integrating that into the site for everyone to enjoy!

TWO news posts back to back my oh my stuff must be brewing! We wanted to let everyone know that the third pride slot has opened. Unlike the other slots we wanted to give everyone a chance to go for it as well, so we'll be raffling it! In order to enter the raffle please DM an admin or the Eoin account with your OOC and which character you'd like to enter the raffle with. The only requirement that has to be met is that the character must be 2 years of age or older (meaning that number of posts and feathers doesn't matter). So get your entries in, the more the merrier as we head into the new year! The other exciting news is that our neutral/lighter colored layout will be out by the end of the year, thanks to the lovely dusk!

Thank you so much everyone for a fantastic first month opening. We wanted to thank you all and let you know that we've decided to extend the grand opening bonuses for one more week, so you can bring in your first three characters free through 12/11! In other news our first contests have started and we couldn't be more excited! You may participate in the following, if you haven't already partaken: Advent Calendar, Superlatives, Advertising Contest, OTMs, and the Writing Contests. We'll be releasing another update soon with some super fun surprises, but some of Eoin's events have drawn to an end and it appears some new boards may start popping up! Expect to see more of Eoin, as well as some adjustment to the event threads, for some of the future boards as well!

11/28/2020 Staff
As we bring another week to close we'd like to welcome everyone to participate in our first contest! The Advertising contest is up and provides some really great rewards, as well as participation rewards! Coming soon are the first set of OTMs and superlatives, a writing contest, a sneak peak at our more refined skills system, and a few other small updates. Happy weekend everyone!

Thank you everyone for having joined us so far for our site opening and help us grow our community. We have had so many wonderful suggestions, and while we are processing some things and working on the skills, we wanted to let you all know that the OTMs and superlatives are coming! Keep an eye out soon for those. Also it appears that Eoin has been wandering around Aesseldar and may be up to no good... best get checking on his apperances for some good old fashion fun, and maybe even a sweet surprise!

Welcome everyone to the grand opening of Aesseldar! We are excited to open our doors and build a community with all of you. As we being our journey together we would love you all to read through the grand opening thread, and remember that while we're transitioning into the start of this, we still have a few fantastic surprises coming. Our skill system is underway and we hope to have that out by the end of November, we would also love to have you all in the Discord with us and welcome any and all suggestions and feedback to help us improve the site! We have a number of things still to come, including a lighter colored layout, accessories in the shop, and would love to remind everyone that the top right series of three vertical dashes will open up the sidebar. In order to reference what IC month it is you will find the calendar link in the sidebar. Happy posting!

12/15/2020 Eoin
With three new terrains open and a third pride staking a claim once more, our mischievous deity Eoin appears to be up to no good again. The quake that cracked open the mountain and closed it once more was felt around the lands, and three new terrains popped open. Tryphosa Shore now has an Atoll sub-board, and there is a Desert and a Rift board. Several more will be coming... but first Eoin will make an impression.

11/17/2020 Eoin
The rainforest trembles, as if fighting back against those who dare to occupy it. The lands of Aesseldar are still only half-tamed, unfettered and unwilling to give way to any aspiring King, any growing empire. And just as quick as King Barnabas came to lay claim to it did it begin to push back, forcing his fledgling pride out with an unforgiving downpour, and a bitter resentment of the creatures that dwell within. With one pride felled, it leaves the opportunity for another to rise from the ashes.

11/4/2020 Eoin
It happened on a hot, humid night. No one there to witness it. Somewhere, surely, it could be heard. The start of a crack. The sound vibrating from mountain top to valley dips. It was a long and dreadful noise. Somewhere in the mountains, somehow, one of the peaks had collapsed. An impassible tower of sharpened points- gone. Snow, with the hidden rocks from the destruction, slid down the slopes that were formed by ages. A wave of white forced outward to cover all below. At first it is still much too dangerous to traverse. But with time the new ground settles and with it comes- a pass. On the other side awaits a land untouched by the curious paws. The lands of Aesseldar have been revealved and somewhere down below three pridelands sit empty, awaiting for eager travelers to start staking their claims. Please refer to the grand opening announcement for information on how to claim a pride slot and fully customize it, since there are some grand opening bonuses or exceptions that are not referenced in the guidebook! We would also love to let everyone know that any official in-character news that gets posted in this "in-character" section of the layout is going to be considered common knowledge for any character in-game. Consider it like an in-character bulletin board! We will keep it updated with relevant and applicable information and hope it helps inspire your plots.

Spring Y11
With spring the clouds begin to disperse and the warmer weather begins and new life blooms. With new lands having been discovered there is a plethora of places for the lions to explore and yet somehow that mischievous site deity never seems to stop bringing the surprises, some of which include occasional inclement weathers. Temps varying between 45°-80°F (7°-27°C).

Casually scoping out the entirety of Aesseldar under the knowledge that suddenly she didn't know it as well as she'd thought. More lions were popping up and while she hadn't met too many of them just yet, it was enough to leave her questioning her solidarity. For a month or so now, she'd separated herself from her family and their pride in the interest of an adventure. Of finding herself, as cliche as it was it was true. She'd never known who she was without her three brothers or her parents. Now she could do just that and make her own connections.

While the Mountains weren't where she expected to find "her kind", she was anxious to just linger around a middle section and see what she could find. So far she'd seen a few caverns though only one that dared her to go further. She couldn't however, knowing that she didn't exactly want to get lost for a while and no one there to find her. That'd be just terrifying... it would be much better to explore the caves with someone who had a better idea as to how to get out of that "lost" situation. So Tintalle carried onwards, scoping out the best paths to take and occasionally taking a brave look at the base below.

It was time for him to go home. It had taken him forever to get down. Or at least get closer to the ground. He wouldn't play a mountain goat again for sure. He needed other hobbies. At least he could see the what the land held. Or as far as he could see. Now he had to get down and look for more places to choose from. The mountain was definitely not the place for a home. With heavy huffs and rumbles he was coming down. Sliding, jumping crawling. And as he was coming down, his higher view was advantage and he saw the figure of another below him. He was careful to step on the rocks so he could leave without bruises, but the next rock didn't want to support him and gave in. His front limb slid forward, putting him off balance.

His large body collided with the ground and the carpet of rolling rocks that caused his body from it's side to end up on his back as he had no control over his falling. His eyes widened as he growled in anger. He was going straight for the stranger below him. She would either move, or she would go down with him. How embaressing.

A happy woman was she to be wandering in such a beautiful place. One that was quite dangerous but if she kept your wits about you, it was so easy to traverse through. You simply had to be careful and pretend like everything could blow up with the slightest budge. So when she suddenly heard some loud noises from up ahead, her eyes grew wide before even looking to see. Really, she should've been moving a little quicker away from the noise instead of looking at. That, unfortunately, had been her first mistake.

The second mistake was thinking she could move when it was already too late. Body smashed against body and she was sent tumbling down with him. A mess of gray as she struggled to put her mind at ease as she was slapping against the rocks in her way. Occasionally feeling as though her limbs were hitting him and subconsciously praying that it was him she was hitting. Though, as she finally collided and felt her body stop her eyes opened and she felt every part of her sore from the mess.

A groan left her lips as she struggled to right herself, limbs ultra sore as she felt her body disagree with her movements. Uhhh, she grumbled as she felt her head pounding and looked to her paw that seemed to be bleeding from a few cuts from the rocks. Eyes only then attempting to find the culprit that had forced her along with them.

He could feel the rocks cutting the skin on his back, but pain wasn't something foreign to the giant. What he didn't expect was the woman below to act so slow. So when their bodies collided he let out a growl of annoyance and pain. His ears reclined into his mane and his eyes closed as they rolled one over the other, before the movement finally stopped and he heard her groaning. His eyes opened and he pushed himself up with a rumble of discomfort. He shook his body to get off the dust and small parts of rock stuck to him. His back cut from the slide down and his eyes didn't wait to see her own leg that was cut because of him. "Fucking rocks. Fucking mountain. Fucking size." He cursed under his breath growling and getting out of the rubble before turning towards her.

"Why didn't you move out of the way?" He grunted and lifted a paw to rub his head slightly. Man that would leave a mark. He exhaled and seated himself down to give his bakc a little rest before he would move. "Sorry about your leg." He finally grunted, his ego hurt obviously, but he had to admit it was his fault.

The longer she stood there and stared at him, the more rage she felt over the pain that ricocheted through her body. Every inch of her felt warm and sore, forcing her blood to boil as he seemed to turn to her and make that feverish eye contact. The foul language that ransacked his mouth only making it easier to dive into being more negative than she would otherwise. Though, it wasn't until he asked her why she hadn't moved out of the way that her eyes widened in surprise ultimately tipping her emotional scale.

Why didn't YOU watch where you were going? she angrily huffed at him, narrowing her eyes as she lifted her right paw to lick at the blood that dripped. Foolish boy; forcing his disdain upon her as though she had had much of a choice in the matter when someone is barreling towards you at a speed far greater than her own stationary speed. Only then did he seem to ask a valid question that would've been nice to have before his previous remark. It's fine. I'll deal. Defensive, through and through, as she knew that she wasn't going to be patronized for a shit-hole that she felt she was being blamed for.

So she took it upon herself to turn around, aiming to go somewhere that didn't include someone so eager to blame someone else for their plight.

Why didn't YOU watch where you were going?

Her witty and angry come back made him frown deeply and let out a low growl at that. But it was his fault. even if the fall itself wasn't his entirely. "The fucking rock gave out." He grunted with a snarl in her way and shook his body once more. So annoying. She said she will manage with her cuts and to be honest he wouldn't care if she couldn't wither. He rolled his eyes and turned to look around. Well he was closer to the base at least. Though the mouth of a cave in the distance caught his attention.

"What's that cave over there?" He mused in her direction. She probably knew since she was around here, or so he thought. His eyes would search for hers as he waits for her answer, his body curled in a sitting position, his back stung from the cuts. But it wasn't something he couldn't handle on his own. He just wanted information.

The beast that had ruined a nice, pleasant stroll through the moments was exactly that. A tense bother to her otherwise beautiful day and she felt rattled by his insufferable need to pin the blame on her. For screeching at her for not moving when it was quite clear that she hadn't quite had the opportunity to do so. With as big a beast as he was, his speed was quite clear and his parameters for what he took down with him quite larger than that of a smaller build.

There was no excuse for his treatment and she scoffed upon her turn, only to realize that he seemed to dismiss all of it with a growl and a snarl in her direction. Assumingly, he responded in such a way to her defensive targeting. Rightly so. A rock gave out was his ultimate excuse and she rolled her eyes. That still didn't qualify him to be angry at her for not moving. Tintalle struggled to something something smartass-y about the cave that he seemed to be pointing out (that she unintentionally was leading herself towards) but decided none of it would help the situation in the least.

Not sure. Why don't you get lost in it and find out? Was her tribute to the comment she had wanted to make. A snarky attitude brimming deep below as she struggled to simply get over his quick-to-blame-others mentality. Somewhere beneath the surface she tried to reason that he could've meant it in a nice way... like I'm sorry you didn't get enough time to move out of the way but she was winning the fight and pushed it away.
