CW: Death of parents - talk of death/harm/anxiety. (rundown: parents fall over the cliff)

The morning was starting right with their little family unit. They were heading to higher grounds to see how far the land would stretch beyond the horizon. Her father held her securely in his mouth as she dangled curled beneath his jaw. Her mother walked somberly behind them, nearly strangling a bit too far behind as it was. The sky was amber with a touch of Robin's egg blues and whites in the mixture. There was no cloud in the sky to taint the array of its flow. Suddenly along one of their walks going further up the stony path, there was a slight sound of something crumbling, a loud gasp, the sudden halt of her father's steps forward. The sound of a rock dislodging off the base as something sharp scrapped against it for footing. The sound of her father's heart beating wildling behind her back as she was tucked to his mane and throat as he turned. The sight was something that would start to burn into her eyes. Her mother was over the ledge of the mountain misty path, and her father had stammered still for a moment deciding possibly what to do.

It had been what felt like mere hours since she had watched her mother take a misstep on the misty mountain ledge when really it had been minutes, and she watched in horror as her father stood and placed their daughter, she herself, along the rocky edge away from the misshapen ledge her mother now dangled from. She couldn't fathom what was happening, only that it happened so damn fast. He held her mother for what seemed like an entire day before she had slipped from his grasp and then all sounds became void of anything. Like she was underwater and viewing everything in slow motion.

Father had come quickly, he smiled and said something to her endearingly, she looked at his eyes - full of sorrow, and yet there was no light there. His toes were shaking and his chest was rapid. Moments later he would make his way to the same cliffside and she watched in absolute horror as her father followed after her mother beyond where she could see. Again her ears had picked up no sounds - and she waited with bated breath for the return of her father clutching his mother to his back.

But as the hours passed on, and the sun started to create shadows along the rocky slope, the more her ears started to allow some sound back to her drums. There was ...no sight of her parents. And the cool air blowing from the pits below crested over the ledge chilling her tiny frail body. Still, no sight of her parents. But she couldn't muster the strength to uproot herself from where her father had lain her safely on the ledge facing where claw marks and broken stones were left remaining. Soon, and very soon, the moon would start to creep along the face of the heavens, inching closer to where the sun normally graced all life from above. The sky went from a beautiful amber and plum color to now a cherry bomb of colorations. Blue, Dark plum, Sanguine reds, Golds like a summer flower and or an autumn leaf. Then it dragged in opaque colorations of dark blues and violets mixed with slated greys and blacks. Tiny white speckles started to glow not shy from where the sun had just been.

She was alone under the coming night sky. Unsure of what had become of both her parents or now, even for the sake of arguments what would happen to her. Her body laid curled tightly backed up against the stone wall behind her, a wall as tall as an elephant as it towered creating a dull shadow to form over her body. No sounds left her golden lips as she started to shiver, not from what had happened before her eyes, but due to the cold that now was slowly swallowing her whole.
