CREDITS
The Dieudonné family was created by Brii a loooong time ago and so the family idea and name is credited to her! She gave permission for these guys to be Dieu, so here we go! The majority of designs listed in here were done by me, and the linearts used are by Ale-Tie! Ruadha's ref is on a base by Machati with a mane added by cptmercier, Máir II's ref is by Fess, Solange's ref is by Mara, and Máir I's ref is on Insol lines. Her original design was also by Fess, I believe, which I tweaked when I adopted her.

** You may apply if you'd like the character to use their father's surname (or mother's, in the case of Nico's kids) rather than the Dieu one, as they must have earned the name to have it - so you can simply say they never earned it if you want. They would still have been raised in a heavily matriarchal environment and wouldn't see anything wrong with cannibalism, and would likely be monogamous but it wouldn't be required if they weren't carrying the Dieu name.**

Family History
Despite popular belief, Dieudonné are not native to [retired site]. Or even the lands they came from prior to [retired site]. The originals were born and raised, surprisingly, in captivity. ( Humans were never a prominent thing in [retired sites], so it was always a vague thing. ) They are from a reserve for big felines in France. The only male, dubbed Dieudonné, was bred with a female who never really had a name. The lioness died in childbirth ( or so that was the official report ), but Dieudonné killed and ate the lioness shortly after the cubs were weaned, though not before sharing his kill with his four precious daughters. Deciding that it was some kind of fluke, this was brushed off. Another lioness was introduced to the family, the children growing strong and as active as their father. The lioness lasted some time, but unfortunately - she was killed and eaten as well. This became a repeated process, and so, Dieudonné and his children were ushered into a new project once the cubs reached full maturity.

A trip was made to Africa, where Dieudonné and his daughter's, Lorelie, Céleste, Lillee and Esmée, were released into the wild. They were tracked and observed for some time before each of them dug out the trackers in their bodies. It was then that their lives really began. The five of them ripped a path through the Savannah, of blood and terror - cannibalism their favored hobby. Dieudonné, however, became too aggressive - too controlling on the four sisters. Resentment grew, and as their minds warped and twisted due to their diet, the sisters turned on their father and beat him near to death, leaving him to die after biting off pieces of him.

The sisters traveled together, taking on their father's name as their surname, growing closer and more intent on power. Keeping some of their father's traditions alive, they developed some of their own - which they put into action when they arrived in [retired site]. The lives of the four sisters changed forever here, all of them found worthy breeding partners and ruled along side them. Havoc and destruction followed where ever they went. Years and years down the road, upon [retired site]'s deterioration, those who had been born of the Dieudonné bloodline found their way to [retired site] - and now, they've found their way to Aesseldar

Family Laws/Traditions
- Dieudonné are strictly Matriarchal, females are to be respected and practically worshiped; failure to do this can end in death or punishment.
- Dieudonné are not born with their surname, they must earn it as they grow. This is usually done by killing or eating another lion.
- Dieudonné mate for life. More than one mate can result in sterilization. The only exception is if a lifemate perishes in some manner.
- Everyone answers to the Matriarch, and there is always to be a Matriarch.
- The Matriarch is usually a birthright passed down from the original to her ancestors, though the title can be challenged for.
- If the Matriarch loses said challenge, she must give up her life to be consumed by the new Matriarch and the family.
- Cannibalism is the preferred method of sustenance.

- Green/Blue/Red Eyes.
- Dark coats with darker undersides.
- Partial and full socks are seen often in this family.
- Dieudonné are known to have longer canines in some instances, not everyone is born with this. It is a mutation developed by a cannibalistic diet.
- Due to cannibalism, some members of the family develop a type of insanity that causes them to lose a proper grip on reality, coupled with a increase in aggression and hunger.
