The dusk hued youth seemed to be in a precarious position at first glance,
and perhaps the second and third as well. Slightly outsized paws (a gift of
their youth and present growth stage) scrambled over and clung to the
damp rocks Ty presently worked his way across with extended claws
gripping damp stone.

But despite appearances the youth was actually
doing rather well as far as not falling off and soaking himself in the tide
was concerned. A few angary sea birds circled over head screeching at
the youth and going mostly unheeded as Ty gleefully plundered a nest
slurping up protein packed eggs before moving onto the next next.

Each nest raided was left with one egg however, Ty understood if all the
eggs were eaten that meant no little birds for the future, and no more food
later on! And Ty could not afford to cut off future food sources, of course
the cub really could not afford to be passing up any calories at the
moment either...

The way the ocean smelled brought back feeling of nostalgia, for the goddess had followed the sea with her children during their travels- finally, until they had found these lands. I wasn't quite this very shore they had touched, but the feel of the sand was the same, the algae covered rocks familair as her claws gripped them, allowing her to travel over the rough surfaces with minimal slipping. The sky seemed crowded, dark sea clouds bundles together with the ever looming threat of rain. Just beneath the sky blocking layer, pale seabirds circled, screeching, quite a few obviously irritated. The goddess was so distracted at one flying quite close she didn't quite notice as she stepped into a nest, crushing an already broken egg into many more shards. Ember gaze looked up, glancing around for the nest raider, only to see a young cub of shades of amethyst and royal plum. A pretty child, truly, but her attention on the little beast was taken away as an angry gull smacked itself into her side, furious she was standing right in its nest- in which the goddess kindly pinned it, long claws drawing blood. But the force of her paw slamming onto it had killed it on impact, but that was irrelevant as the obsidian maiden ripped of its head, spit it out, and swiped the bird into the ocean with her paw, her expression livid. She huffed, calming herself before turning back, approaching the little berry bean. Quite the gut you have, to stand out here with these vile winged vermin.

The birds were already so angry, and noisy, that the chaos covered the sound of the approaching adult. But it did not hide her scent as the huge female drew closer. Ty paused his raiding and quickly looked around and down, now on alert...well aware that youth and size could make them a fine target for a meal.

When the lioness was spotted eyes widened slightly, startled at the contrast of warm tones on black and the sheer bulk of the adult. For a moment there was even a question if the two were the same species given the lack of tail and sharp ears sported by the adult. But scent wise....well the scent was correct.

Eyes winded a hair further as she pinned a bird, decapitated it and swatted it into the water. Ty -almost- jumped in the water after it, a frown drawing onto young features at the waste.

"It's a waste." the soft thoughtful words slip out seeming without thought, then mystic gaze rests on the lioness's fiery eyes "Hunting for dinner. May I have that?" head tilts twoards the bird now floating in the surf. It certainly did not seem the lioness wanted it, but it was a good idea to be polite and careful. Very careful.

The child now in her presence, close before herb seemed covered in the very essence of the sky. Was it possible he was a diety, trapped in a mortal vessel as well?
It's a waste
Volcan raised a brow, her ember gaze moving from the night cubs own and to the floating bird, crouching onto her stomach and reaching out her paw to snatch it with her long claws. The wet bird flopped onto the rocks below them, and the goddess felt a twinge of disgust that the cub would be feasting on this. "You may have it, little one." she said, sitting back onto her haunches. "I am Volcan, what it yours?"

Mystic eyes which had held an slightly detached and disapproving light moments before now lightened and seemed to grow more focused as Ty watched the lioness lean over and fish the bird out of the cold surf. Hopefulness sparked in the youth's chest as she dropped the corpse to the rocks and voiced her permission to eat it.

It would be the first -warm- meal Ty had eaten in weeks.

Ty didn't even care if he had to pluck salty sodden feathers first and placing one paw firmly on the creature the child looked up with a bright smile and offered gratatude before starting to pluck it. "Thank you Ma'am."

Ears swiveled to catch her words above him as he plucked the bird, eager to get to the warm flesh beneath all the feathers. However the child was polite enough to stop and look up when answering her question "Tyveil Ma'am. Nice to meet you." a faint smile is offered before the efficient plucking resumes! Stomach rumbling, and only the thick plush fur covering the child hiding how underweight the youth had become.

The goddess watched as the star touched cub began to pull feathers from the bird, smiling as he stopped and gave his name. She wouldnt have expected so, more of him to eat and then answer, but he was well mannered it seemed. It was not too odd for the smother to immediatly be smitten. She stayed quiet for a while, allowing him to get filled a bit before speaking again. "You seem very hungry.... Are you.... Alone?" the fiery jeweled female asked carefully. If he was an orphan, chances are he would still be grieving. "I cannot ignore those in need- not when, as an empress and a goddess within a mortal form, I could provide."

The bird did not have enough flesh on it to fill the void that was the youth's stomach, however it did go along way to take the edge off the hunger cramps. Soothing the almost frantic need to eat and allowing Ty to more fully focus on the moment and the huge lioness who was interacting.

"I am. And....I...am..." was it wise to admit this? Some might only be holding back out of fear a parent or pride might swoop in to punish anyone who harmed a youth. Then again, if she were inclined Ty would likely already be dead. Brow furrows slightly as her words were turned around and examined their meanings.

"What is an empress ma'am?" this was a term Ty was not familiar with. But the way it was used made it sound like an important title. Most curiosity however was reserved for the other half of the statement, mystic eyes growing wide with curiosity. Ty scoots closer, wanting to get a better look with that fascination so common to children.

"How does that work? How did you get in there? What can you do that other lions cant? Are you really old?" well...she did just go and tell a child she was a 'goddess' in a mortal body after all....

Volcan felt her heart ache as the star cub admitted their lack of a parent. She would say nothing further about it, knowing doing so may hurt them more than get her information. Perhaps, the child never had parents. By the colors of their fur, and eyes..... Was it possible they were also divine?

A small smile spread across the jeweled woman's maw, "I rule a pride- empress is another way of saying queen." she explained kindly. And then came a bombardment of child curiosity. As he scooted closer, she gently put a paw around him, offering him warmth if they wished. "Well, I don't know too much about my immortal form. I know that I was put into this vessel within my mother's tummy. I suppose I cant physically do much special, but I look nothing like either of ky parents. I simply share my mother's dark coat.... Otherwise, my markings appeared without a.... Uh.... An explanation from my parents. And if I likely have lived thousands of years, i simply do not remember." she stated. "Would you like to hear the story of how I am sure?"
