Matthias actually quite liked the rainforest, which surprised even himself. Though he had camouflage advantage in the colder areas, the man preferred the warmth and good covering that the rainforest provided.

Rain is just nature's national shower. He was not hiding in his den or scrambling for cover, but searching around for the best spot to take his heavenly shower. The water poured down and pooled together upon the broad leaves of the trees, falling down in clumps as the weight of the water finally caused the leaves to falter. He was searching for the perfect patch of leaves that would all be angled downwards already, so that the water would come down in multiple little streams and land upon him. It was not enough that they would just fall in trickles around him, or the occasional pond-fall. No no, he needed something steady.

It was along his journey that he scented the familiar smell of a man he'd met rather recently. Oh, that new King dude! Did I cross the border? it was possible that the rain had washed away the scent markers; surely the man would understand it wasn't on purpose, if he did.

He followed the scent, the rain making the ordeal more difficult than normal, until it no longer mattered that he did. He'd spotted the man a few yards away, nearly hidden amongst the thick undergrowth and low-hanging branches, and strided forward.

“I come in peace,” he said casually, a cheerful tone hidden underneath the words. His head remained high in self-confidence, a smile--almost mischievous--faintly revealed on his face. But he kept his tail lowered, and kept an otherwise restrained and respectful posture. Despite how dismissively he treated the man before, Matthias wasn't a guy to disrespect another (on purpose) if they didn't deserve it, “How do you fair?”
