There was certainly a lot of things that he had to learn as he matured, particularly how to pay attention to his own surroundings. As of yet he'd not realized he was in the company of another, nor that he would be their source of entertainment (or horror) in the minutes to come. His claws gripped the ground though found little purchase as the muddy surface squished between his toes. The rain continued to beat against his coat and he crouched to the earth, moving through some dense grasses and wiggling his butt a little with excitement. As the badger scurried its nose around where its den used to be, it was moving some rocks out of the way after what appeared to be a collapse at the entrance. He waited as long as he thought appropriate, though as he ambled forward and tried to pounce through the grasses his hind limbs slipped in the mud and instead he ended face first eating a mouthful of gravel, dirt, mud, and grass. The badger having heard the commotion turned angrily, jaws bared and hissing with irritation, though sensing no danger from the child, turned back and returned to its den-digging.
