The thunder boomed and roared around her, lightning crackled across the dreary sky all the while. And oh little Mouse was so afraid. She had left her prison of a life behind but it seemed that the world around her was angry with her. Perhaps it was punishing her for escaping her captors. Her small paws carried her swiftly across the plains but immediately she slammed to a halt when a nearby tree was struck, causing a ricochet of bark and twigs around her. She ducked, just barely missing getting hit by the debris. Fire swarmed her, dancing angrily and the young woman cried out with sheer terror. She lurched, running but not really knowing where to run to. Thankfully however the skies opened providing a torrential torrent of rain that put out the fire. She was able to escape the ring of fire that surrounded her but her heart was slamming in her chest with the terror that remained. The rain turned into a drizzle and the smoke simmered around her but still she fled, mud and water kicking up onto her legs and underbelly as she moved. And then up ahead beneath a cluster of trees sat and obsidian woman, much much larger than herself. A giant even but everyone seemed unnaturally large in comparison to Mouse when she was unnaturally small. She froze like a deer caught in headlights, unsure of whether to stay put or turn tail and take off yet again.
