@Hecuba

At the suggestion that her over-politeness was not needed, Kyarri's 'proper' stance faded lightly. Even if there wasn't an ounce of actual corrective tone in Hecuba's voice, the child still couldn't help but to take it in such a way. She had done something to displease the woman, causing her dark tipped ears to droop slightly. "Oh, okay... sorry, Miss Hecuba," Kya mumbled slightly. So much for giving up the formalities. In her head, though, by apologizing for her previous change in wording, the Kyarri was doing just that, but little would she know that her addition of 'Miss' to the woman's name was also probably seen as a formal thing. Poor child.

At first, the rogue cub thought that maybe she had seen an ocean before as the ashen woman began to describe it. Large body of water, always in motion. Even at the mention of waves, Kya was imaging the small, sandy beach-like edges that a lake could acquire sometimes, but then all her imagery faded away at the last little descriptor. And you can't see the other side of it. Never before could the child recall seeing any body of water that she couldn't easily see the other side of it. That sounded like a really really big lake. "Then, no. I never seen a ocean before. That sounds like a llotttt of water." The dusty girl's eyes grew wide at the thought of such a daunting expanse of water. She was both excited and terrified to think about what it must be like to live beside the ocean, or to even just experience it's sight, but how did she ask the stranger to take her along to the beach? The question was stalled at the tip of the child's tongue, however, when Hecuba mentioned how peaceful it felt to swim in the ocean. Had Kyarri ever known true peace before? Her short life had been quite a whirlwind already. Was there ever a time, that she could actually remember, where all was quiet and calm? "What's.... peaceful?" she asked hesitantly, starting to feel like she was asking a lot of questions of this stranger.
