Happy 2021 to all! Big thank you for hanging out and being awesome for the first two-ish months of the site. It's been fun so far, looking forwards to a lot this year! If you haven't seen, after a delay, the last day of the advent can be claimed now (here). You have three choices for your last advent prize including a second chance at a creature pass. That's right we have creatures coming to Aesseldar now! Be sure to check the announcement for any rule clarifications if you're interested. Last big bit of news we do have our light layout "in the mist" ready to be used. There will still be tweaks and color changes coming in the next week or so by the fantastic dusk so don't be afraid if things look a little different.

Congratulations to Zay for winning the pride raffle with Runar! Welcome our new pride, Adamo Autumna! Don't forget to keep posting in the advent to claim your awesome prizes, and within the next few days you'll see some additional posts cropping up in the ooc areas. We'd love some feedback on the site and will be adding an area for feedback and suggestions. We will also be adding a thread to post all your open threads. Another fantastic surprise is that Koafox (some of you may know her as Miranda from other sites) has said we are welcome to use their table switcher plugin. As soon as I get the files we will be integrating that into the site for everyone to enjoy!

TWO news posts back to back my oh my stuff must be brewing! We wanted to let everyone know that the third pride slot has opened. Unlike the other slots we wanted to give everyone a chance to go for it as well, so we'll be raffling it! In order to enter the raffle please DM an admin or the Eoin account with your OOC and which character you'd like to enter the raffle with. The only requirement that has to be met is that the character must be 2 years of age or older (meaning that number of posts and feathers doesn't matter). So get your entries in, the more the merrier as we head into the new year! The other exciting news is that our neutral/lighter colored layout will be out by the end of the year, thanks to the lovely dusk!

Thank you so much everyone for a fantastic first month opening. We wanted to thank you all and let you know that we've decided to extend the grand opening bonuses for one more week, so you can bring in your first three characters free through 12/11! In other news our first contests have started and we couldn't be more excited! You may participate in the following, if you haven't already partaken: Advent Calendar, Superlatives, Advertising Contest, OTMs, and the Writing Contests. We'll be releasing another update soon with some super fun surprises, but some of Eoin's events have drawn to an end and it appears some new boards may start popping up! Expect to see more of Eoin, as well as some adjustment to the event threads, for some of the future boards as well!

As we bring another week to close we'd like to welcome everyone to participate in our first contest! The Advertising contest is up and provides some really great rewards, as well as participation rewards! Coming soon are the first set of OTMs and superlatives, a writing contest, a sneak peak at our more refined skills system, and a few other small updates. Happy weekend everyone!

Thank you everyone for having joined us so far for our site opening and help us grow our community. We have had so many wonderful suggestions, and while we are processing some things and working on the skills, we wanted to let you all know that the OTMs and superlatives are coming! Keep an eye out soon for those. Also it appears that Eoin has been wandering around Aesseldar and may be up to no good... best get checking on his apperances for some good old fashion fun, and maybe even a sweet surprise!

Welcome everyone to the grand opening of Aesseldar! We are excited to open our doors and build a community with all of you. As we being our journey together we would love you all to read through the grand opening thread, and remember that while we're transitioning into the start of this, we still have a few fantastic surprises coming. Our skill system is underway and we hope to have that out by the end of November, we would also love to have you all in the Discord with us and welcome any and all suggestions and feedback to help us improve the site! We have a number of things still to come, including a lighter colored layout, accessories in the shop, and would love to remind everyone that the top right series of three vertical dashes will open up the sidebar. In order to reference what IC month it is you will find the calendar link in the sidebar. Happy posting!

With three new terrains open and a third pride staking a claim once more, our mischievous deity Eoin appears to be up to no good again. The quake that cracked open the mountain and closed it once more was felt around the lands, and three new terrains popped open. Tryphosa Shore now has an Atoll sub-board, and there is a Desert and a Rift board. Several more will be coming... but first Eoin will make an impression.

The rainforest trembles, as if fighting back against those who dare to occupy it. The lands of Aesseldar are still only half-tamed, unfettered and unwilling to give way to any aspiring King, any growing empire. And just as quick as King Barnabas came to lay claim to it did it begin to push back, forcing his fledgling pride out with an unforgiving downpour, and a bitter resentment of the creatures that dwell within. With one pride felled, it leaves the opportunity for another to rise from the ashes.

It happened on a hot, humid night. No one there to witness it. Somewhere, surely, it could be heard. The start of a crack. The sound vibrating from mountain top to valley dips. It was a long and dreadful noise. Somewhere in the mountains, somehow, one of the peaks had collapsed. An impassible tower of sharpened points- gone. Snow, with the hidden rocks from the destruction, slid down the slopes that were formed by ages. A wave of white forced outward to cover all below. At first it is still much too dangerous to traverse. But with time the new ground settles and with it comes- a pass. On the other side awaits a land untouched by the curious paws. The lands of Aesseldar have been revealved and somewhere down below three pridelands sit empty, awaiting for eager travelers to start staking their claims. Please refer to the grand opening announcement for information on how to claim a pride slot and fully customize it, since there are some grand opening bonuses or exceptions that are not referenced in the guidebook! We would also love to let everyone know that any official in-character news that gets posted in this "in-character" section of the layout is going to be considered common knowledge for any character in-game. Consider it like an in-character bulletin board! We will keep it updated with relevant and applicable information and hope it helps inspire your plots.

With spring the clouds begin to disperse and the warmer weather begins and new life blooms. With new lands having been discovered there is a plethora of places for the lions to explore and yet somehow that mischievous site deity never seems to stop bringing the surprises, some of which include occasional inclement weathers. Temps varying between 45°-80°F (7°-27°C).

These lands were quickly becoming home to her the longer she lingered here. Rested from constantly fleeing for the past year, she had the energy to venture further into the lands. Drawn to the waters edge, it was no surprise to her when she found herself heading towards the ocean. Dual-toned gaze sweeping over the waters surface as she walked down the honey hued beach, waves lapping at her paws along the way. She did not mind it, despite the chill in the air making the water even colder than usual. Yet she had no plans of getting in the water, no. It was much too cold for that if you asked her. Instead she simply enjoyed the view, catching sight of the rock pools up ahead she decided to head there. Tail flicking idly behind her, to some beat only she heard in her head.


Clambering up onto the slick rocks was interesting to say the least, claws scraping against the slick hard surface. Waves beat against the rocks, splashing over them and retreating making the surface slicker and slicker. It was a particularly large wave that slammed into the rocks and into Wokabi, knocking her off the rocks and into the water – luckily into the pool and not the ocean – with an undignified yelp. Splashing around until she was able to make her way back towards the rocks – though further from the front this time – she attempted to clamber up onto the rocks once again but continued to slip. Damnit, man! She didn't want a bath!

The ocean was something that Drakon had grown fond of. Hecuba loved the ocean back home so he had stayed there for her to live in happiness. And now, it was the same thing. Drakon would find a way to make them a home near the ocean for her to bathe without having to travel too far. Much like today the beast moved from wherever they had called it a night and crashed, moving towards the sound of the ocean with ease compared to his size. And he was content on strolling along until he heard a yelp and found himself spotting a rather unique woman slipping from a rock. Amber jewels watched closely as he moved closer himself as she got back onto the rock and started to slip again. Are you trying to drown or are you just that stupid?” Sorry, he has no filter.

Her struggle continued for several minutes until another came upon her. Instead of offering aid however, he had a blunt comment – one she would have made if she was in his position – about her being stupid or trying to drown. A scoff escaped vocals just as she finally got her footing and was able to pull herself back onto the rocks. Safe from the waves here, she turned to look at him with a unimpressed expression. “I damn sure wasn't trying to drown myself.” Seriously, why would she? Sure she should have expected there to be large waves, but she had let that thought slip her mind. “And no, I'm not that stupid. Just distracted.” She explained, turning to face him fully.


“Have you never made an error in judgement?” It was a challenge to his comment, because she knew everyone made an error in judgement at some point in their lives. No one was perfect all the time.

She seemed to have gained her balance again but nonetheless, Drakon was not impressed and it showed. No emotion was on his face as he would watch her and listen to her closely. Her comment caused a slight chuckle from him before he would stand there and shake his head at her. ”Then why get on rocks so close to the water?” Surely everyone knew that rocks and water didn’t mix very well. Moss could grow on them and cause them to be slipper just as this lioness had found out. ”Not that I can remember.” And he didn’t. Drakon didn’t make errors. He didn’t have regrets.

The glare increased as he chuckled and shook his head at her. Rude. Dripping wet she began making her way back towards shore, and away from the front rocks that she had slipped from. The chill in the air caused a shiver to run down her spine as she finally set foot back on shore. Why get on the rocks so close to the water? It was simple, she liked water … just not when she was thrust into it without planning on getting wet. Lifting one paw to lick at it for a few seconds before turning that glare back on him. “I like the water. Just not unexpected baths. Definetly not when it is cold out.” How did he not guess that? Why else would she have been on the front rocks? When he claimed he could never making a error in judgement she could not contain the scoff that escaped her. “Everyone makes mistakes, errors in judgement. No one is perfect.” She had learned that early in life. “Who are you anyways?” He had just appeared and basically insulted her, so she figured she had the right to ask what his name was, right?

An eye brow looked at her as she spoke of liking the water just not unexpected baths when it was cold outside. "You should expect the unexpected from the Ocean then." He would advice. He had lived next to the ocean for years and had always expected it to throw something at him even when he expected nothing. And yet it hadn't been the water that had taken his home from his family. Ears twitched as he listened to her scoff at his comment and amber jewels sparked with a challenge. "Perhaps not, or perhaps one knows when to make the right moves and choices." Granted that wasn't how some things had happened. Though it didn't matter now. "Drakon Tollaire; you?" It was only fair right?

Hmm Perhaps she should expect the unexpected from the ocean, but it was not often she found herself walking on rocks near the ocean. Sure it had been foolish, but she had wanted to see what was over there, like they said. Curiousity killed the cat, and she was a cat of sorts right? “I'll keep that in mind.” For once she did not sound sarcastic, but genuine. It was sage advice when it came to the ocean anyways. A shiver ran down her spine as the wind blew past, her body still soaked to the bone. Yet she made no move to do anything about it, not infront of the stranger.


A smirk crossed her face before she shook her head. “Or perhaps they simply they think they know when to do something or make the right choices and it is merely luck on their side?” It was something to think about, for there was such a thing as luck. She had seen it in action, it was luck and practice and teamwork that made hunts successful after all right? It was his name however that caused her to do a double take. Tollaire? Family perhaps? “I am Wokabi Maat-Tollaire.” While she could have dropped her mothers surname after a year of not seeing her, she had not done so. “Do you know Vermillion?”

She seemed to drop the sarcasm when he gave his advice about the ocean and he took note of it. Drakon didn't miss much of anything else he didn't give a shit about it. It was really that simple to him. Ears twitched as he decided to sit down on the shoreline with ease and comfort showing through his massive white features. He was comfortable at the ocean and had been that way for a long time now. Granted Drakon didn't get uncomfortable with anything really and some may think he was weird, but in reality; Drakon didn't let many things bother him. "Vermillion is my brother. And it seems he is still out there somewhere making his own legacy." Adopted or not, Vermillion had earned his right to be given the Tollaire name and Drakon had admired him. From the stories that his own mother had told him.

He does not comment on her challenge and she accepts it as their little back and forth was over. As he settled down upon the shoreline she did as well, as yet another shiver racked through her frame. Finally she had enough and twisted around – after giving him a brief look – to rake her tongue down her side in an attempt to dry herself off. This continued for several moments until he mentioned that her father was his brother. That made this her uncle right? But his comment about making his own legacy caused her mind to churn. Had he figured out that she was Verms daughter or did he mean that her Da had another family? Straightening herself back up with only one side of her body done though it was still damp. “He is my Da, if you didn't guess that.” She informs him, gaze raising to meet his. “Do you know if anyone else has made their way here?” She knew her Da was here, she had found him. Now she just needed to find her mother then their family would once again be complete.

Did he know that Vermillion was her father? No, he has just assumed but way of her asking if he knew who he was. Why, didn't most ask that question if they were already related? He wasn't sure but then again, he didn't ask many questions and that got him in trouble sometimes. "My wife, Hecuba, is here with me as well as Arsynia." If she was a Tollaire which she had just confirmed, then she deserved to know about the other Tollaire's as well. "I didn't guess really just assumed. Is your father here?" In all reality, Vermillion would've been the next Patriarch right? But Drakon had taken over when he hadn't found Vermillion in the other lands before here.
