Picture…overworked kindergarten teacher. Yeah, in bright, rusted Broadway lights with the “g” and the “t” hanging by a thread. Juniper Kingsley is all soft, all excess. Clothed in deep wine, she resembles most a creature of the night. Her round, cherubic face quite like a moth’s wings, with two dark “panda” splotches staining the skin around her eyes. And the eyes, oh those eyes…they are good girl eyes. They are, definitely, a tired yet kind sort of eyes. In the most peculiar shade of periwinkle, tiptoeing the line between violet and sky-blue. A small, single sock, as if she’d carelessly forgotten the other, covers her right paw. But certainly, her most salient feature is how tender and pudgy she looks, like a child with those big jewel eyes, those squirrel’s cousin cheeks. A woman trapped in a girlish body…will she ever be taken seriously?
When you love someone but it goes to waste

What can I say? This girl lives, eats and breathes her job. Don’t even dare take her out on a dinner date because first she’ll dissect her food and then start a lively conversation about spleens. And yet…if you asked her whether she actually liked it…whether she loved it. She wouldn’t know what to say. Probably some mumbled comment about, it’s the right thing to do. In fact, Juniper seems most ill-equipped for such a job. She gets overwhelmed easily, her frustrations bubble up visibly on her face till she seems less of a juniper berry and more of cherry tomato. The girl’s emotional, a never-ending ocean of feelings and sensations, she’ll look at your face one moment and listen to your tragic backstory and practically fall in love with you time and time again. And you know what…she’d probably tell you in the worst, most awkward way possible. Who doesn’t love a good grand gesture, right? Right in front of your parents. Jokesters and fast talkers beware, she’s especially susceptible to your charms. Discretion is advised if symptoms like excessive giggling and googly eyes present themselves. Juniper loves the ocean, loves swimming. That wonderful feeling of being suspended, of being a mere speck in the fabric of the universe. And of course, the beautiful little seashell you can take home. June’s a MASSIVE collector, after all. Every trinket, every rock and branch has some sentimental value. This is the pebble she tripped over when she met that dream boat, this is a bone from a particularly delicious prey animal. And this little conch, well…it reminds her of her brother.
What could it be worse?

Ah yes, here you are. Seated comfortably? Popcorn in hand? Though if you’re more of a skittles type of person, I’ll understand Well, this sob story begins not to long ago. Juniper was born to two loving parents, and one loving brother. It was a good childhood, not without its up and downs of course, but whenever somebody would pull on her tail or call her names…her family was always her refuge. Her brother, her best friend, would drop even hottest girl in the pride and come running to her should she even start to sniffle. Yes, it was great. It was wonderful. Until their father got sick and died, of course. That tends to put a damper on things. And you know what was even worse, her brother decided he was going to become a doctor. Oh, it drove her mother up the den walls. Their father dies of disease and he decided to go and work at the EPISCENTER OF THE INFECTION?! But he was popular, charming in fact, and he did well. Both their mom and Juniper were very proud of him. Alas, it was a matter of time till the disease took him too. And his practice fell on Juniper. Though Mrs. Kingsley was quick to chase her out, tears staining her face, she wouldn’t lose another one of her babies to this terrible plague. So, she could’ve stopped. Could’ve chosen another possession. But that, and the pink conch, were the only vestiges of her brother left. And to give healing up was like…giving her brother up. Fast-forward, and she’s here, a traveling doctor. A small, insignificant berry. What could go wrong?
