from the start she's a scrappy individual, shoving her larger siblings out of the way to get the best spot to nurse. later on she'll want to be first out of the den, and isn't above fighting all three of her littermates at once for the privilege. that bone-deep rage in her eyes comes from the beginning, when she realizes that she's small and delicate and pretty; when she realizes that that's all anyone will see unless she makes them see something else, something more. this attitude makes her a little hard to live with, but oh well!
she will not give an inch, getting into fights over the smallest insults and grievances, refusing to back down even when she's probably bitten off more than she can chew. if she has to be pretty, at least she can be tough, too. ah, but all that rage becomes better controlled as she grows, and by her first birthday she's far calmer than before, able to pick her battles instead of leaping into a brawl every time someone looks at her funny. she still won't tolerate insults very well, but at least she'll come home less roughed up most days.
rage is not the only thing that defines her, however; despite her anger she is pure of heart and incredibly loyal. she also loves every bit as fiercely as she fights, and once her heart is given it is given in its entirety--never to be taken back. a love ending badly for her would destroy her, leaving only the rage in its wake for many months; she knows this, and so she will not let herself fall in love if she can help it. still, though, her love for family and friends has just as much potential to do harm, for she adores them despite all the brawling.
oddly enough, it's perfectly fine for her to slap one of her siblings upside the head, but god help any outsider who does it--the phrase "ankle biter" mean anything to you? fiercely possessive and protective, she's liable to attempt chewing through the offending person's ankles. she never gives a warning prior to attacking, nor does she talk much as a rule. her default reaction to things is always violence, even when she's up against someone bigger than she (for who isn't, in this valley?) and probably shouldn't be escalating the situation.
she prefers solitude to crowds, and though she loves her family, she often won't sleep in a snuggle pile--preferring to curl up in her own lonely little corner of the den each night. she'll do her duties as a ranked pride member well enough, but she's never going to be entirely comfortable addressing multitudes of people or going to chat up strangers like she's known them all her life. still, she'll always be there when she's needed, and she'll never let a pridemate or relative be abused (verbally or otherwise) if she's capable of stepping in to stop it.
after a handful of months trapped in a gladiator arena, battling for her freedom, the rage in her has dimmed to a simmering pile of coals. in her eyes now is pain, backed by new scars on her thick pelt. she hates, oh, she hates, but it's a cold rage, one leashed by an iron control learned in the ring.
through a series of trials, and the love for her children, sonni has become a more mature ( though still full of rage and pain ) adult whose primary focus is the safety and happiness of her family. she has already proven her willingness to live and die for her family's safety, and although she still has a long way to go in maturing - she is getting better.
born, lived, had 8 kids, was believed to have died in a mudslide for a while but she rly was wandering around with a case of amnesia until her brain healed, had more kids (some of them were stillborn), came to aess looking for her other kids and her wife.
