Empress of Ithilien

Even as she listened and could hear the dark tone in his voice, the warning tone in which he practically scolded her for being so naive. Yet, she certainly did not feel naive especially when it wasn't necessary. Her invitation for him to be King had mostly been a joke but in her desperation for social connections, perhaps it had led that she was invested in this more than that. That was on her but she wasn't about to backtrack, as she could see his point just as well as she saw hers.

So all she really could do was sit quietly and listen, forcing her frustration at his serious and harsh accusations. As though he attempted to warn her over and over that he was (apparently quite obviously) a intimidating and scary stranger. That he was interested in twisting her words and ideals into something that he could take advantage of. You're not wrong. It can happen. From here, she wanted to be careful about what she said to him. Not by means of not giving him more information than necessary, but how to word that she wasn't afraid of telling him anything. That if he did choose to take advantage of her, to know that she wasn't going to back down like a scared kitten.

That's a good trait to have. Being able to lock into someone's thought process and desires and to be able to take them out simply by that. Perhaps he'd make a good King somewhere but it was a good thing that he'd denied her half joking invitation to be her King. The last thing she needed was some pompous asshole who wanted to argue every little detail with her. A shame - he had good qualities but not the kind of qualities that mattered for her.
