The beast had spent his night in the misty forest he had found a few days after arriving in this new land. The atmosphere was just to his liking. No sun, no visibility and you could practically hear everything with the leaves covering the ground. And they made a great pillow for his tired limbs. He had wandered around these woods for almost a day before he decided to take a nap. And his nap was well deserved. Though someone ruined it. The sound of crackling leaves beneath someone's paws caused his eyes to open and lock in the distance. He remained still as a tree. Silent. Even his breath was hard to be seen. His sides almost unmoving. From a far he could have looked like just a big rock. Though.. he was a mountain. When the rustling stopped for awhile his ears cupped forward and he listened harder. Predator instincts urging him to leap forward and eat whatever was making those sounds. And then he decided to move. Large head rises up, soon followed by his body. Shoulders roll and leaves rustle violently beneath his movements. It was as if the ground was moving itself. He shook his fur and mane to get the leaves off before moving forward.

A few steps in and he could see her silhouette. Pastel eyes locking on every curve her silhouette made. A woman. Or so he thought. Claws scraped the ground softly as his tusked and stoic face came out of the fog and into view. His enormous body halted halfway out of the shrubs and the mist and he stared at her. Stared at her as if he was seeing her soul, judging her for her existence.
