Knight of Ignis Empire

His silver-blue eyes remained on the serpent as Salvador was momentarily spellbound by an unpleasant mix of fascination and reluctance, until the growl of his companion pulled him out of the haze. He glanced at the blue-toned lion, pointed ears flicked towards him as he listened with growing unease to his instructions. Distraction he could do just fine, after all, the snake had already spied them so how hard would it be to mess that part up? But going for the kill? For a moment the masked lion was swallowed by dismay and insecurity and would have voiced his objections aloud had Matthias not uttered what he supposed was intended as reassurance. I knew guys who used to hunt snakes for their venom. It was not a reassurance, not at all, and Salvador’s wild gaze flitted back to the coiled, watching serpent as his companion departed to enact phase one of his plan.

Having missed the opportunity to speak up, Salvador had no choice but to continue – had he been less principled he might’ve just abandoned this quest completely – and so he slunk towards the reptile. His approach was not direct and his steps were no longer quiet, but his scaled quarry remained in his peripheral as he moved forward. Trailing vines and leaves brushed his shoulders and spine as he wandered from the path, and he tried to make just enough noise to keep the snake focused on him without spooking him altogether. Salvador halfway hoped the thing would be spooked anyway, preferably straight into the jaws of his hunting companion, but he would not have it be said that he didn’t try his best. So he continued his gimmick as he waited with baited breath for Matthias to make his move.
