Galian had been wandering for quite a few days now. Constantly he has been on the search for food. Sure, he's been successful at many a hunt... but his hunger is seemingly never sated! He is a growing boy! He needs his nutrition! He had run into quite a steep ledge not so long ago, and wondered what treasures he might be able to scavenge below. The honey hued sands and glassy rock pools seemed quite promising from above.

It didn't take him long to make his way to the bottom, and now that he was here, it was time to see what he could find! He tipped rocks and rolled over many driftwoods in search of plentiful bounty... but it seemed all he could find in abundance was a multitude of dark brown and gray seaweed. So. Much. Seaweed.

The maneless male then made his way to the rock pools. Looking down he was sure he would find a crab... or perhaps a clam or two! If he were lucky, maybe even a squid! But from one to the other to another... there was nothing to be seen but his own reflection looking back at him.

Finally, the young male sat to rest. Perhaps there was nothing for him here after all? What a waste of time this had been. However, on the bright side, he had found a great new spot to relax and take a load off. Even the ambient sound of the waves hitting the sandy shore put his mind at ease for a time. He glanced over at himself in one of the nearest rock pools, sighing at the image of his bald head and neck.

Suddenly, an idea struck him as his eyes wandered to a rather large patch of seaweed within arms reach. Stretching out his claws, Galian grasped a paw-full of the vegetation and splatted it upon his head. Two then three more paw-fulls later, and here he was... a grown male lion, carefully adjusting and styling the seaweed to look as though he had a full mane with glorious locks spilling down his shoulders and in front of his eyes!

Looking in the glassy pool at his own reflection once again, the young male chuckled to himself. How ridiculous he looked, and yet... how different.

Matthias had not been at the shore for long, far away from the eyes and sounds of the other searching individual as he looked searched the shore for his own bit of treasure. He figured that, if there ever were to be treasure around here, it would probably be by the shore, the waves lapping up anything it could get its grubby self on to steal it into its vast expanse and spit it out somewhere else, far away. Searching so far into the water meant he'd have a lot of cleaning up to do afterwards, but the man didn't mind. He certainly didn't want to have his legs covered in salty water and sticky grains of sand all day!

Walking along the shore eventually brought a figure into sight, one who, at first glance, looked like a black panther with a mane. But something wasn't right...the mane looked off, and the body shape didn't exactly remind him of panthers/ What was it doing, he wondered? Closer investigation revealed that it was not a black panther after all, but a lion, one who was...putting seaweed on his head? The realization caused all caution within him to dissipate, and laughter spilled out from his maw at the silly sight. He wasn't going to make the same mistake he'd made with Sal; the scent in the air told him it was a male.

The biggest of his laughter lasted only a moment, but the chuckling and low giggling continued for quite a while afterwards as he strode his way forth, black-tipped tail curling behind him and head high. There was a wide smile on his face, inviting and friendly, “That gave me a real laugh, then!” he said, stopping a handful of feet away from the male to take him in. Further observation revealed he had no mane. Just like Sal! So many mane-less males around here, “Wish you had a mane, I'm guessing?” Matthias could not share his plight. He adored his mohawk-styled mane, and the small pair of spiraling horns that complimented them.

As his own chuckle died away, the sound of distant laughter sent Galian's head snapping around in the direction it came from. His ears perked out from under the soggy mane he had made for himself, his gaze falling upon another male of just around the same age.

The slate colored stranger approached in good spirits, a wide smile stretching nearly from ear to ear. Galian had to smile back just as wide. He knew he looked quite silly, and it felt good that someone had appreciated it! He did not feel the least bit threatened with the other male's presence, and in fact welcomed it. It had been quite a while since he had been in good company. It got lonely.

Galian laughed with his new acquaintance as he spoke.

"OH of course, but clearly it would be a disadvantage to my competition. Just look at what a sexy chunk of meat I am with a simple batch of seaweed!

It's fortunate for the rest of the world I was born as is. Women would want me... men would want to be me. It would be chaos!"

He teased, light green gaze drinking in the appearance of this other male. A slate colored pelt... a mohawk-styled mane and... wait... were those...? His smile waned a bit and his head tilted ever so slightly as he noticed a strange feature that adorned the other male's head. What were those? There! On top of his head!! Was he wearing some kind of hat? Did he have horns... sprouting from his head?

"Are... do you... Is that...?"

Galian didn't quite know how to address the question. Perhaps it might be better to not ask at all. Cheekily, he diverted his question in an attempt to pretend he was never going to inquire about the antlers in the first place. First, he cleared his throat.

"The name's Galian. I'm kinda new around here."

He introduced with his smile returning as though it had never left.

This guy's a real laugh! The panther-like man's energy seemed to radiate off of him, mingiing with Matthias' owned as he radiated the same energy back, “Oh, chaos for sure,” the man jested, the low chuckling still bubbling through his words every now and then. The seaweed looked ridiculous, and he couldn't imagine himself wearing such a thing even if he didn't have his luxurious mohawk, but it was a pleasing sight, and he couldn't help but to mentally agree how much better looking the other would be if he had a mane. But every woman's got a type, and there were certainly those who preferred maneless males, “I can't imagine why any woman wouldn't want you. There's a type for everyone.”

The last of his chuckling finally died away before the panther male's eyes began to take him in. Matthias followed the movement of his eyes, curious as to what could have the man so piqued, then he figured the man was just admiring the handsome man before him. I know, I know, I'm absolutely bodacious. The man took interest in Matthias' horns, causing a slight tilt of the ends of his lips in an almost mischievous smile. But he seemed to dismiss his question. Matthias was almost disappointed. He wanted to talk about them! Ah well. Plenty of other interesting subjects abound.

The smile only faltered a bit, but remained on his maw as a reminder of what could have been, “Matthias Kingsley. I've been roaming for a while.” he admitted, “You seem like someone I could have a good time with. How'd you end up here?” he was interested to see how interesting the other would turn out to be.
