Happy 2021 to all! Big thank you for hanging out and being awesome for the first two-ish months of the site. It's been fun so far, looking forwards to a lot this year! If you haven't seen, after a delay, the last day of the advent can be claimed now (here). You have three choices for your last advent prize including a second chance at a creature pass. That's right we have creatures coming to Aesseldar now! Be sure to check the announcement for any rule clarifications if you're interested. Last big bit of news we do have our light layout "in the mist" ready to be used. There will still be tweaks and color changes coming in the next week or so by the fantastic dusk so don't be afraid if things look a little different.

Congratulations to Zay for winning the pride raffle with Runar! Welcome our new pride, Adamo Autumna! Don't forget to keep posting in the advent to claim your awesome prizes, and within the next few days you'll see some additional posts cropping up in the ooc areas. We'd love some feedback on the site and will be adding an area for feedback and suggestions. We will also be adding a thread to post all your open threads. Another fantastic surprise is that Koafox (some of you may know her as Miranda from other sites) has said we are welcome to use their table switcher plugin. As soon as I get the files we will be integrating that into the site for everyone to enjoy!

TWO news posts back to back my oh my stuff must be brewing! We wanted to let everyone know that the third pride slot has opened. Unlike the other slots we wanted to give everyone a chance to go for it as well, so we'll be raffling it! In order to enter the raffle please DM an admin or the Eoin account with your OOC and which character you'd like to enter the raffle with. The only requirement that has to be met is that the character must be 2 years of age or older (meaning that number of posts and feathers doesn't matter). So get your entries in, the more the merrier as we head into the new year! The other exciting news is that our neutral/lighter colored layout will be out by the end of the year, thanks to the lovely dusk!

Thank you so much everyone for a fantastic first month opening. We wanted to thank you all and let you know that we've decided to extend the grand opening bonuses for one more week, so you can bring in your first three characters free through 12/11! In other news our first contests have started and we couldn't be more excited! You may participate in the following, if you haven't already partaken: Advent Calendar, Superlatives, Advertising Contest, OTMs, and the Writing Contests. We'll be releasing another update soon with some super fun surprises, but some of Eoin's events have drawn to an end and it appears some new boards may start popping up! Expect to see more of Eoin, as well as some adjustment to the event threads, for some of the future boards as well!

As we bring another week to close we'd like to welcome everyone to participate in our first contest! The Advertising contest is up and provides some really great rewards, as well as participation rewards! Thank you everyone for having joined us so far for our site opening and help us grow our community. We have had so many wonderful suggestions, and while we are processing some things and working on the skills, we wanted to let you all know that the OTMs and superlatives are coming! Keep an eye out soon for those. Also it appears that Eoin has been wandering around Aesseldar and may be up to no good... best get checking on his apperances for some good old fashion fun, and maybe even a sweet surprise!

Welcome everyone to the grand opening of Aesseldar! We are excited to open our doors and build a community with all of you. As we being our journey together we would love you all to read through the grand opening thread, and remember that while we're transitioning into the start of this, we still have a few fantastic surprises coming. Our skill system is underway and we hope to have that out by the end of November, we would also love to have you all in the Discord with us and welcome any and all suggestions and feedback to help us improve the site! We have a number of things still to come, including a lighter colored layout, accessories in the shop, and would love to remind everyone that the top right series of three vertical dashes will open up the sidebar. In order to reference what IC month it is you will find the calendar link in the sidebar. Happy posting!

With three new terrains open and a third pride staking a claim once more, our mischievous deity Eoin appears to be up to no good again. The quake that cracked open the mountain and closed it once more was felt around the lands, and three new terrains popped open. Tryphosa Shore now has an Atoll sub-board, and there is a Desert and a Rift board. Several more will be coming... but first Eoin will make an impression.

The rainforest trembles, as if fighting back against those who dare to occupy it. The lands of Aesseldar are still only half-tamed, unfettered and unwilling to give way to any aspiring King, any growing empire. And just as quick as King Barnabas came to lay claim to it did it begin to push back, forcing his fledgling pride out with an unforgiving downpour, and a bitter resentment of the creatures that dwell within. With one pride felled, it leaves the opportunity for another to rise from the ashes.

It happened on a hot, humid night. No one there to witness it. Somewhere, surely, it could be heard. The start of a crack. The sound vibrating from mountain top to valley dips. It was a long and dreadful noise. Somewhere in the mountains, somehow, one of the peaks had collapsed. An impassible tower of sharpened points- gone. Snow, with the hidden rocks from the destruction, slid down the slopes that were formed by ages. A wave of white forced outward to cover all below. At first it is still much too dangerous to traverse. But with time the new ground settles and with it comes- a pass. On the other side awaits a land untouched by the curious paws. The lands of Aesseldar have been revealved and somewhere down below three pridelands sit empty, awaiting for eager travelers to start staking their claims. Please refer to the grand opening announcement for information on how to claim a pride slot and fully customize it, since there are some grand opening bonuses or exceptions that are not referenced in the guidebook! We would also love to let everyone know that any official in-character news that gets posted in this "in-character" section of the layout is going to be considered common knowledge for any character in-game. Consider it like an in-character bulletin board! We will keep it updated with relevant and applicable information and hope it helps inspire your plots.

With spring the clouds begin to disperse and the warmer weather begins and new life blooms. With new lands having been discovered there is a plethora of places for the lions to explore and yet somehow that mischievous site deity never seems to stop bringing the surprises, some of which include occasional inclement weathers. Temps varying between 45°-80°F (7°-27°C).

While this hadn't been her exact motive when coming through this area a little while ago, someone had brought it to her attention that this was something she could do. It was hard to say if it would last but she was interested in at least trying. That was half the reason why she was even here was because she wanted to embark on as many adventures and journeys as she possibly could. Being a leader of a pride was just one of them so she set out to the edge of the Woodlands (or as close to it as she could while remaining within), she called to let anyone near know that this was going to be hers now. Anyone was welcome to join, of course, provided she give them a brief interrogation perhaps (thanks Kaden, for making her somewhat suspicious of others).

More than anything, though, she was excited and hoped that others might join in this discovery with her. Someone that would be able to help and guide her and she them. After spending two year with overly doting parents and aggressively troublesome brothers, she wanted to be able to spend it with others that were likeminded and not. Those with differing paths that could share with her their knowledge and vice versa. Only time would tell and she hoped to embrace what new things came her way.

He's only just arrived, but like an creature of habit, he gravitates towards the land that reminds him of home. The woods remind the pale man all too much of Grimwood, a shallow stabbing to his chest reminding him of the grief that had ensued. It's lost with a subtle shake of his head and stretch of his shoulders, replaced now only by the curiousity that follows the scent of another close by. A quick process of it assures Hrodolf that its recent, and with a nosey step forward he aims to locate the stranger. Ears perked up at the sound of a call, eyebrows raised in even more intrigue. Was it friendly? Perhaps they were staking claim here, after all, his former home had nomadic prides, why wouldn't this one?

The golden man approaches the darker woman before him, head tilted curiously. " Hello there. What are your intentions? " Baritone voices rumbles gently, reclining to a sit before her. A quick glance of her pelt grants him no knowledge, no large scars to tell tales of battle. Curiouser and curiouser.

Tintalle stood bold, prepared for those curious and those outraged, perhaps. She reckoned that not very many individuals really passed through these territories as they once might have. That this was going to be something that would spark some life into Aesseldar. So when she noticed something bright passing through the dense trees of what she hoped to soon be her Woodlands, she felt pride. Pride that emanated in her posture as she allowed herself to view him as he merged. Long, curlyish locks of blonde hair trailed his face and he was quite handsome - perhaps, femininely so. Almost as if he was too good to be true. I'm claiming this territory, these woods, as my pride. Who might you be? While she responded to him and asked a grand question, she kept herself vigilante and hoped that she wasn't coming off as dismissive or uninterested. She just didn't want to be blindsided if someone (or even him) decided that she wasn't fit to lead.

Sure he was passing by. Sure he didn't care about other's business.. But when it meant that a land will be claimed and that it would possibly be a pride that would be here with his own, he couldn't help but pry. His direction changed abruptly as the giant moved into the woodlands. His nose catching a familiar scent. He was heading towards Minerva, to catch up, see where they stand, but he would make the detour to earn information, before going to the woman. It was not long until he saw two figures. One painfully familiar and the other not. The bright male was almost an eye sore to him, but who was he to speak. He was just as bright. Thinking he himself could be an eye sore to someone would only make him chuckle. With prideful steps he comes closer. His eyes falling on the female after his head gave a greeting nod to the male.

"Well, well. Someone's been busy." He teased and seated himself down as he turned to look at her leg and smirk in her direction. "How's the leg?" He asked and even though he sounded like he didn't care, he wanted to know it was okay.

Minerva wasn't certain where she and Barnabas stood but all she knew was that she didn't want to let him go. She knew he had very ambitious intentions and she would respect and support the man in his conquests. The goliath woman didn't mind being alone, after all that ache of loneliness had been sated for now, but in time she would need reassurance again. She moved through the wood, unafraid and undeterred. However a call came up, an unfamiliar one albeit but one that she wanted to witness for herself. She moved quicker now as she made her way towards the call. The scent of Barnabas grew stronger as well the closer she came to the stranger that called out and her heart lurched in her chest. Odd, she hadn't expected that reaction. When she came upon the little gathering it was Barnabas and two strangers. The call had sounded feminine so Minerva assumed it was the lady that had challenged. Her plum gaze took in the group, a small smile curving her lips as she spoke, "Well isn't this grand. Are you two claiming this place for yourselves?" She spoke before pulling her haunches beneath her to sit. Briefly her gaze flickered towards Barnabas before returning to the pair of strangers. Knowledge was power and although she had no intentions of challenging this claim she did want to know the information surrounding it.

The lioness turns to him, and as she speaks he's glad that no offence had been taken from his question. After all, this place seemed relatively untouched and it could be dangerous to call others in without the right intentions. Blonde head nods vaguely in understanding, carmine eyes glittering more curiously now than they had before. An introduction was in order then. " Hrodolf Dahl, at your service miss. If you'll have me, that is. "

The arrival of others draws his attention away from the woman before him, gaze flickering quickly to the paler man as he nods in greeting, Hrodolf dipping his head in return. His heart awkwardly thumps in his chest at how savagely handsome the stranger is, and he has to shake his head softly to dismiss such irritating thoughts. It appears the two know each other from the greeting he offers, and the golden man all but absorbs the information before him, until the next woman approaches. They are grouped together in a vague statement and the shaman shakes his head dismissively, a soft chuckle on his lips. " Oh, no. I was just passing through and caught the tail end of it. Hrodolf, you two are? " Carmine gaze flickers before the duo in rather obvious curiosity, no ill will in his intentions at all.

'Oh, no. I was just passing through and caught the tail end of it. Hrodolf, you two are?' The golden man spoke and my it was nice to have a name to a face instead of trying to simply remember what these strangers looked like. Minerva tossed her mane out of her eyes then so her plum gaze could lock with his before she responded, "It's a pleasure to meet you Hrodolf, I am Minerva." She responded to him then with a soft smile. She turned her gaze to Barnabas afterwards, waiting to see if he too would introduce himself to the man. After a few moments she returned her gaze to the woman, still a stranger to her but nonetheless Minerva was prepared to see things through here and to see if her claim would turn out successful or not.

He had heard the summons from a good ways away and at first Edgar was tempted to move in the opposite direction. Though he came here to have a new start, to be far from the individuals that knew of his father, it still seemed that he was caught in his own ways. He was reluctant to engage with others, afraid of rejection yet again. This was a fresh start yes but Edgar was still caught up in his head about everything. The dappled man moved through the shrubbery, as quiet as a field mouse as he crept closer. Vivid purple eyes were quick to take in the party that was gathered up ahead but for now he lingered on the outskirts, watching silently as he paused, halting all of his movements.

As she waited and waited for anyone to show up, hell she had expected someone to challenge her but nobody seemed interested. That was fine, though. It meant that she would have a little extra time to get herself together and put her name and pride out there. Just as she gazed to the first one that had shown up as he expressed his willingness to serve her. Welcome to Ithilien, then, Hrodolf! Tintalle was pleased that she had her first official member and while she didn't know much about him other than that he had fabulous hair and was quite pretty in the male sense of the word, she was happy.

I am Tintalle Grey, this will be Ithilien. She addressed the crowd, starting from Hrodolf to the rest of those that had gathered. Eyes trailing to Barnabas as he had addressed her foot a moment ago. Fine now, after some care was given. No thanks to him and his foolish ways, of course. A pompous and blameless child who she wasn't sure she was keen on exploring. If you're here to stay, cool. If not, I have some things to do and would I'd rather not have to chase you guys out... but I will. Nor did she want to send her new recruit after them, either. The last thing she wanted was to usher folks out but she didn't have much of a choice in the matter if they chose to linger without paying.
