It would seem that other than the lake, the rest of the lands so far were harsh and dreary. Nothing was able to remind her of home, just yet. However, she did not let that be a shadow over her mood. She kept a positive outlook. Sure that much more lay in waiting for her to discover. A whole new world that she wanted to desperately share, or conquer, with her crewmates.


There was one, in particular, she looked for today. They had split shortly before she stumbled inside this new kingdom of sort and had failed to reunite. Being separated from her siblings for so long was not a usual thing for the trio. She climbed the small rise with much effort. The loose gravel did not allow her to traverse the territory so easily. As she reached the top, her smile dissipated. There was still nothing.


Head lulled back and she called out. A long, slightly demanding sound that urged her sister to find her. In the vast expanse of open land, she lowered her slate bodice to wait.

She and her siblings had stumbled upon this new land and split up to do their own thing. She herself had left in search of herbs, always looking to find new herbs and learn what they could do. It was a bit of a hobby, and the job she had when it came to her kin. A self-assigned job, but one none the less. So intrigued in the new herbs she found, she did not notice how long it had been until she heard a distant roar. It was familiar and she gathered the large make-shift sack – made of a large leaf- in her jaws gently before heading in the direction of the call.


It took her quite a bit to reach the rough lands, dreary and desolate. Nostrils flares, easily picking up the familiar scent of her sister. Large paws carried the slate hued female in that direction, quickly. Of course, this quick pace was hindered by the gravel as she attempted to follow her sister's path up the hill but eventually, she got there. Gaze locking upon her sister's familiar figure and she basically pranced over there, before dropping her findings at her sister's feet. "Look what I found." Head was held proudly, waiting for her sister's reaction.

She had almost begun to second guess that her sister had even arrived fully since they had split right before they came through the mountain pass. Worry had just started to settle in her stomach when she heard it. The distant pounding of paws against the ground. A pattern that she could almost trace back in any given situation.

Her sister joined her upon the expanse and Rue was visibly thrilled. Toes wiggled in the muddy grass mixture as gaze followed what was dropped before them. Of course, her sister seen something far more interesting. Rue tried a smile, though confusion was evident as well. "Yo ho! Ye found... grass!"

Grass?! Grass?! Ugh why did her sister never understand her odd obsession with herbs? A low huff escaped her vocals as she shook her head, peering down at her sister. "Grass? No, no. Herbs. Ye use em to heal." She explained as patient as ever. She respected her sister after all, and thus kept her annoyance under wraps when speaking to her. Strangers however were not awarded the same common courtesy. "If ye were hurt. This one I believe helps pain." She explained, nudging the root looking things she had collected. She was unsure what it was called, but the plant she pulled it from looked similar to ones she'd seen in other lands they had visited.

Rue grimaced just slightly as sister exclaimed what it was. Of course, she figured that's what they were, but beyond that, she was unable to decipher one blade of grass from the other thing that looked like a blade of grass as well. Sometimes they even came with flowers on them. However, despite her lack of medic knowledge, she was at least aware of how valuable it could be if she retained it. It was all information that she had never seen important. Who had time to learn when there was a world of adventure just beyond her grasp?

Mouth formed a slight 'o' in expression as she stared down at it all still. A pain reliever? Eyes moved from the foliage to the root. "When I find us an anchorin' land, we shall needs t' stock up on it then." She figured it might come in handy, especially when they knew so little about the others that roamed here. "Wha' else do ye 'ave ther'?" Perhaps it was time to finally get a new interest.

It was a passion of hers and she enjoyed it, finding herbs. Of course, there were times that she found poisons instead of herbs, but that was beside the point. Standing there before her sister explaining what she had found was also something she enjoyed. Nodding when it was said they needed to stock up once they found a place to settle down. "I will collect them when we do." Next her sister asks what else she has and she can only beam before looking at her collection to see what else there was. "There are many herbs that help with pain and such. Like this one here." She pointed towards a small white flower with a yellow center. "It helps when one is delirious with fever. It lowers it." It would come in handy fighting illnesses, but she also needed to show her sister the next one. "This one helps cure wounds of infections." She pointed to a pink hued flower with a large red bulb in the middle.

She tried to remain interested, despite the urge her brain gave to run off or start a play fight. She kept her eyes locked on the herbs that her sister further explained. Her gaze went to each one that she pointed out. A weak smile still on her lips. "Hopefully, I 'member this." She gave a light-hearted chuckle. However, she was finally forced to step back and change the subject gently. After all, she had a purpose in this land and once her mind was set, Rue was hard to let go. "Tell me, 'ave ye seen our brother yet? Or th' rest o' th' crew?" She questioned. She wondered just how far out they still were, or if they had already entered. Though she wasn't entirely sure her sister would even know.

She knew her other siblings werent as interested in herbs or as entertained by finding new ones. So she was not surprised by her sisters comment about hopefully remembering them. To each their own she supposed, but that was why she had self assigned herself to be the healer of the crew, because of her interest in the herbs. Someone had to keep the fevers and infections away, right?! "Jus' Dont go eatin' any herbs without askin' me." She told her sister, half joking but mostly serious. Some that looked like herbs, could be poisonous. Which would not end well.


The question about their brother had her shaking her head slightly. "Haven't seen him. Or the rest of the crew." She responded, turning her attention to her find and gently folding the leaf back up. "Any luck on your part?" She knew her sister had her own mission when they arrived, and while she should have been helping … were either of them really surprised she got distracted by herbs?

Rue let out a chuckle at the joking advice her sister had given. Along with a quick nod in response. She wasn't too fond of eating herbs even when she did to do it, so she didn't mind avoiding the task when she didn't. The remark on the others caused Rue to lift her gaze and shift it over the flatter parts of the territory. Surely they were out there somewhere. She just hoped they didn't make too much of a fuss without her. After all, Rue loved to be in the middle of it all.


She let a shoulder rise and fall in a simple shrug. "Some. This place be Aesseldar, but nah sure on th' rest. Most lands are lackin' in proper shelter 'n huntin' ground so far." She mumbled off what she had managed to find. Of course, she hadn't explored every nook and cranny as of yet. But in due time she would have it all mapped out and known.
